CMUO Students and Friends,
Since September 2005, Children’s Ministries University Online has supported those in the trenches of children’s ministry. 1116 students, from 24 countries and 46 states in the USA, have taken more than 1500 classes. Our goal has been to equip you to better serve your children and families. We have been blessed to serve you by providing quality online training in children’s ministries at bargain basement prices.
I am thrilled to announce the upcoming suspension and reinvention of CMUO. Our vision from the start has been to move CMUO from a certificate program to an online Associate of Arts in Children’s Ministry Degree program. The day of that change is upon us.
All CMUO course offerings will be suspended following the July 2013 start-up. Then, in keeping with the many requests from you, online children’s ministries courses will be introduced after January 1, 2014. The entire AA degree will be up and running by September 2014. The Children’s Ministry University Online (CMUO) name will fade into memory as Children’s Ministry Studies Online at Valley Forge (CMSO) takes its place.
Since more than 98% of those taking CMUO courses have done so to improve their ministry, rather than earn a certificate or degree, we will offer an option to audit courses. In this way, training will continue to be available to those wishing to benefit without paying full “for-credit” prices.
Your final opportunity to take one or more courses in the current format will be the upcoming July 1, 2013 start-up. CMUO courses will not be offered following the July quarter. Register now if you wish to take advantage of our final course offerings in the present format.
Those nearing completion of the ten-course certificate in children’s ministry should take as many courses as reasonable in the July-September quarter. If you are earning a certificate, and cannot finish this summer, please contact us prior to July 1. We will partner with you to earn the certificate through the online offerings of our mother institution, Valley Forge Christian College. Those wishing to further their education online may want to check out VFCC’s online programs. Go to www.vfcc.edu and search under academics for online studies.
If you need a transcript in days to come, contact the registrar’s office at Valley Forge Christian College, or you may order one at www.getmytranscript.com
Let me express my thanks to you for your support, gracious evaluations of our materials, and diligence in study. I look forward to meeting many of you as we share in learning at children’s ministry conferences across this country and around the world.
If you have questions, please do not hesitate to write to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
God bless you as you continue to serve His children and their families.
His servant, your servant,
